Lauren began her yoga practice in 2001, following the ashtanga yoga tradition. Inspired by the transformations she discovered through this practice, she quickly pursued a greater depth of experience and knowledge through a year long yoga teacher certification program in California. She has practiced with the founder of ashtanga yoga, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, as well as Manju Jois, Lino Miele, Richard Freeman, Kino MacGregor, and other respected ashtanga teachers including her teacher Scott Miller. More recently, Lauren has broadened her interests to other forms of yoga - including the yoga of motherhood - but she continues to practice and teach the styles that originally inspired her. To make yoga accessible to everyone, Lauren emphasizes the importance of pranayama and energetic engagement over perfection of form. She is supportive of students at all levels, encouraging them to try new things and make new discoveries.
When she is not teaching or practicing yoga, or hanging out with her family, Lauren enjoys traveling, taking photos, and being outside. Oh, she's also a plant ecologist by day. |
